Leslie Kaufman is a partner at Cooper & Sandler LLP and is Certified by the Law Society as a Specialist in Criminal Law.  Ms. Kaufman graduated from the Faculty of Law at McGill University with both civil and common law degrees. She completed her articles with the Crown Law Office (Criminal) and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1997.  Ms. Kaufman joined Cooper & Sandler LLP in 2001 after being a sole practitioner from 1997 to 2001.  Ms. Kaufman has also been a frequent speaker at the Law Society of Upper Canada on a variety of criminal law related issues.  Since joining Cooper & Sandler LLP, Ms. Kaufman has regularly appeared before the courts on a wide variety of criminal and quasi-criminal matters, including homicides, large scale frauds, sexual assaults, domestic assaults and drug offences.  From 2001 to 2005 Ms. Kaufman served as a Trustee of the Toronto Lawyers Association and in June of 2009 she was elected to the Board of Directors of the Red Door Family Shelter.
